Our hope is to start a community conversation about books. Also, by telling the library what’s popular in Elmwood and Murdock, we can better anticipate your needs and wants for our inventory! Prizes include a $5 in EMMA bucks (good at several Elmwood-Murdock businesses) and a sweet treat to sustain you while you read your next book!

There will be one prize for awarded for an adult and one for a kid EACH MONTH during this promotion! Your chances of winning depend upon how many entries we get each month.

Did you know that Dwight Clements turned 101 in January!!! He looks amazing for his age and I thought maybe late 80s or 90s.

He was interviewed by our local Jon Vanderford on 1011 NOW. Watch his interview here and watch him talk about Elmwood, the history of the bank, and his experience in World War II.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha released its Fall 2020 Dean’s List. Students who qualified for the Chancellor's List earned a grade point average of 4.0 for courses and completed 12 or more hours. Here are the local students recognized:

Village Updates

Village board office shot

Board meetings are open to the public and held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month.

The meetings are held at the new Village Board office located at the Learning Center on the south side of town.

Official agendas are posted the day before at the Post Office, Gas Station, and the Village Office. Prior to the posting of the agenda, meeting items can be added to the meeting. At the end of each meeting is a Public Comment Section. Attendees have three minutes to speak about anything at this time. Further discussion on the topic can then be added to the next board meeting.

Wouldn't it be amazing if the board meetings were FULL every time? This is your opportunity to be involved, be "in the know" and learn how to influence how your community grows, how improvements can be made, and how you can participate in the steps needed to MAKE IT HAPPEN.

As of January 2021, the Village of Elmwood requests that all utility bills be deposited in the new dropbox.

The position requires me to physically be in town M-F 6:30 am - 3:00 pm (approx) & Sat/Sun an hour each to check the water tower & treatment plant.

The free pantry is here to serve our community. It is for neighbors helping neighbors. Take what you need or leave what you can.

Here are some ideas that may be useful:

There is a new location for the Cass County Food Bank.

They have a new space at the previous Village Board building!

Parking is improved and there is now more space and room for freezers, food storage, and a permanent distribution site. Please let people know about the new location who could use this service.
