Saturday was my day to work at Bits and Pieces. I always have so much fun working with Kurk and Kris Shrader and visiting with everyone who comes to shop. This time I decided it was time for more selfies with me! Everyone was thrilled.

Kurk and me.

Kris and me.

Gloria took a minute away from shopping to do a selfie with me.

Dawn and I stop laughing for just a minute to get this selfie. Love her shirt! That was a great trip to Carnegie Hall.

Suzie and me...love this lady so much!
After my Bits and Pieces shift I took off for a craft show at Clark Jeary in Lincoln. Joy Vidaurre invited me to the show. She had a booth and so did Angie Willey and Pat Spellman. Three great reasons to go! And of course, there were more selfies.

Me, Angie, and Ben...kinda.

Joy and me...true joys. lol!

Pat and me...she looks like she is up to something!
The ladies took a little time to have some fun with me but they were there to work. They all had great crafts. Just love to shop at their booths!

Joy's mom, Jo Snyder, came to help. Joy was sporting one of her scarves. I bought one of her bags. It is so cool!

Angie had all kinds of things from books to hair bows to crocheted hats. She is a very talented woman.

Pat has the coolest pictures in her Traveling Treasures. There are lights in these pictures. Just love them! If you ever get a chance to see these ladies and their crafts...say for example at the Elmwood Extravaganza on November 29th at the Red Cedar Lounge...be sure you go!

From Kevin Hynes
Five years ago, the Elmwood-Murdock High School administration and school board were approached with the idea of forming of a Cross Country team.
Four and a half years ago, the School Board voted to authorize cross country as a new team sport.
Four years ago last month, the very first Elmwood-Murdock Country team competed in its inaugural competition at the difficult Johnson County Central Cross Country Invitational.
On Friday, six students from Elmwood-Murdock High School w...ill become the first team in school history to compete in the State Cross Country Meet in Kearney, Neb. Among those runners will be two members of that inaugural team.
Good luck to Trevor and Patrick as you complete your preparations this week for what will be your final cross country meet of your high school careers. Your hard work, dedication, fortitude and leadership have placed the Elmwood-Murdock Cross Country program on solid ground.
And thank you to the Elmwood-Murdock High School administration and school board for taking a chance and helping make a dream become a reality.

A huge congratulations to the Elmwood-Murdock Senior High School Varsity Cross Country Team on taking home the runner up trophy at the district meet at Branched Oak Lake. They earned the school's first ever team spot at the State Cross Country Meet in Kearney. Congrats to Quinten Romero, Patrick Hynes, Trever Lockman, Miguel Rikli, Thomas Hynes, Glen Hickey, and Coach Hall

The Hoops Are Complete!
Thanks to everyone who had a part in bringing this new basketball court to the Elmwood Park. It is used just about every night. I think I'm going to get my own basketball and head down there myself.

Adam and Levi Offner are shooting some hoops.

If you happen to be in Omaha on Thursday night stop in at the Village Inn on 78th and Dodge. A percent of every check will be donated to Nebraska Spina Bifida. As a mom of a child with spina bifida I appreciate everything that people do for us and for all the kids with spina bifida. It's not an easy life but Nebraska Spina Bifida does all it can to help the kids and families. We are very grateful for all the help we've received and for everyone who turns out for this fundraiser.

Hitchcock Based, “Wrong Window” Opens at Lofte
The hilarious Hitchcock-inspired farce, “ Wrong Window!” will open on the Lofte Community Theatre’s stage on October 11. The script is written by the successful writing team of Van Zandt and Milmore whose other works include “Love, Sex and the I.R.S.,” and “Suitehearts.”
New York couple Marnie and Jeff think their neighbor has killed his wife. However, the woman’s body soon disappears and the bumbling witnesses sneak into the cross-courtyard apartment to solve the mystery. In all, there are over 30 script references to the works and characters in Alfred Hitchcock films. Can you spot them all?
The production is directed by and stars Kevin Colbert as Jeff. His wife Marnie is played by Brandy Palatas of Papillion. Rounding out the cast are Scott Pope and Scott Nielsen of Eagle, Melinda Mead of Plattsmouth, John Bell and Ken Patry of Omaha, and Jeff Johnston and Ken Snyder of Elmwood. Alyssa DiPaolo of Lincoln gives a stunning performance as the dead body.
Performance dates for “Wrong Window!” are October 11, 12, 17-19 and 24-26. Friday and Saturday curtain times are at 7:30pm. All Sunday performances are 2pm matinees. Tickets are $19 and reservations can be made by calling the box office at 402-234-2553. The Lofte Community Theatre is located just east of Hwy 50 near the town of Manley.
