It's almost Cass County Fair time.  People with kid in 4-H or who participate in the competitions at the fair are already preparing for it.  I can already smell the burgers and the funnel cakes!  There is just an air of excitement in the air at fair time.  The Figure 8 races, the amusement park rides, the exhibits, Ms. Purplepockets, the barrel races, Sheriff Bill and Deputy Tuttle, and the line up of new tractors and cars from area dealers.  It's pretty  much the same thing every year yet there isn't a chance that I'd miss it.  This year I get to take my grandkids and I'll get to experience it through their eyes.  I'm guessing it will be a hot, sticky day and I'm not talking just the weather.  The cotton candy will be everywhere!  I hope to see you out at the fair!  If you spot me stop me and we'll take a selfie together for the newsletter.  Let's see how many we can get for the August 13th newsletter!  Mental note to self...get a haircut before the fair.

‘King O’ the Moon’ Auditions at Lofte

The Lofte Community Theatre near Manley announces it will be holding open auditions on Sunday, July 20 and Monday, July 21 at 7pm for its upcoming production, ‘King O’ the Moon.’  Depending upon the number auditioning, the process should be completed by 8pm each night.    Written by tom Dudzik, ‘King’ is the sequel to ‘Over the Tavern.’  In this story, the Pazinski family has left the conservative 1950s for the rebellious 1960s.  Apollo 11 is about to land on the moon and the family has gathered to honor their late father’s memory.  A complete cast list can be found on the audition page of www.Lofte.com.    The production will be directed by Kevin Colbert.  The cast calls for four men and 3 women (ages 20-60).  Rehearsals will begin the week of July 28.  Production dates are August 30-September 14.  Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.  Actors should bring a list of possible schedule conflicts to the audition.  Those with questions may call the Lofte box office at (402) 234-2553.

 Car Show in Louisville

Beginning with the Wed 5/21/2014 Newsletter all of the Communities will be able to post, buy, sell ads for general merchandise such as mowers, baby cribs, cars, computers and Real Estate. We especially hope that the classified ads will be used to post Jobs, look for positions, and post special events, birthdays, church events and Garage Sales.

Certainly there are lots of places on the Internet to post ads, but I know that some folks are uncomfortable with using EBay or Craigs List - this is just your neighbors and should be a bit less scary.

Step 1: you do need to have an account, and an email address to manage your ads. You will be notified to renew your ad, you can change info, pricing, and pics as long as you have this account.

Step 2: create an ad, indicate if it is Elmwood, Eagle, Louisville and Alvo and post it

Step 3: wait for approval. We will approve ads as close to immediately as possible. We need to take a quick peek and make sure that it is a real ad, and if anything needs fixing we will fix it.

Step 4: post it to Facebook if you like!Ads will now show everywhere, regardless if it was posted in Elmwood or Alvo. Our number one request was to post once, and make it visible everywhere. Ads will also be Goggle/Twitter searchable as well as location, travel directions searchable.

So, get cracking! Create that account, and post everything in your garage and basement! If you need some assistance TEXT us at 4029680821
