The Murdock 4th of July Celebration Brings Everyone Together!

The EM Band marches and plays. Mr. Hansen has been the band director for 10 years. And he is awesome! Good job!

Alicia Widger and her daughter, Cami, are decked out in their Red, White, and Blue representing the Sonshine Child Care Center.

It takes talent to ride this bike and throw candy!

The Elmwood Murdock Merchants Association help sponsor the activities for the day and announce the Good Neighbor Awards for the year.

The Cronks bring out their classic car, Ethel, to head up the Sonshine Day Care Center entry.

Anyone need an extra fire truck?

The Grand Marshals.

Brianne Ross, Miss Elmwood.

John zoomed around on his mower pulling signs to advertise the small engine repair and recycle services he offers.

Stacey Dorr, The Stylist Next Dorr, handed out goodies, too.

Click here to see the Cass County Fair Schedule of events and you will be in the know!!

Congrats Cass County Creative Cats - way to represent at State 4-H Life Skills! Our team won 4th place for their community service project, third place for the Quiz Bowl competition (and the other Cass team with Austin Hawks placed second), most creative children's book - and the big surprise first place on a clothing challenge to redesign a dated prom dress. This is even more surprising because John Willey helped with the clothing project. The event coordinator wanted to know if he would model the new dress when it was complete!
Way to go Brenna Backemeyer, Emily Zakaras, Jenna Meyer, Mackenzie Burch, John Willey, Whitney Koehn, Megan Hawks, and Austing Hawks.
Elmwood Farmer's Market is in Full Swing!
So far there have only been two vendors but I've always found everything I needed. Gloria Hensley has been selling canned goods such as tomatoes, pears, pickles, etc... And vegetables from her garden! I got some rhubarb there and made rhubarb crisp. She also sells freshly baked homemade bread and you can get some homemade jam to go with it.

Gloria has a couple handsome customers, the Kasten boys stopped buy for some fresh food!

Owen Kunz had them lining up for his fruits and vegies. Owen had corn on the cob, watermelon, cantalope, tomatoes, peaches, and more. They will both be there again next week so stop by and get some goodies at the Elmwood Farmer's Market!
