People are encouraged to purchase their tickets before the event. Then bring your tickets and guide, listing all the homes with map and descriptions of the homes to each stop. An FBLA student will greet you at the door and punch your tickets. We ask that all participants remove their shoes or wear the disposable shoe covers provided at the door. The homeowners will be present to welcome you and answer questions. The homes are open from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. so can be visited at your leisure and no appointment is necessary. Start your tour at any of the homes and finish up at St. Mary’s Catholic church with coffee and dessert (FREE WILL DONATION) from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Lastly stop at 4th Street Market and put your ticket in for the raffle, or do some shopping for your holiday decorating ideas. 4th Street Market will be open all day until 5:30 p.m. Take your time and enjoy the tour! Some people will want to visit all the homes, others just the locations that interest them most.

Rick and Mickey Clements were on hand in Keene, New Hampshire not only to see the beautiful fall colors but to attend the 22nd annual Keen Pumpkin Festival. They were witness to the town’s attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Record for most pumpkins carved and lit at one time. Drew Scott, one twin half of the HGTV Property Brothers was also there. HGTV was making a special for Halloween and the twins were hosting it. Drew’s brother, Jonathon was in Highwood, Illinois for the 2nd Annual Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival where they were also trying to break the record.
Keene’s approach to breaking the record was to encourage people to carve the pumpkins and bring them in to the competition. And the people responded! Families, churches, individuals and groups carved pumpkins and brought them in. Highwood, on the other hand, took another approach. They set up an assembly line of carvers and went at it more methodically.
I’d like to tell you who won the competition but it really depends on which website you read. I researched it and found news reports claiming each had won. Ultimately, the interesting news in this story is that Mickey Clements was able to chit chat with Drew Scott for a few minutes.

Halloween Fun!
The Josoff girls were ready to go trick or treating at 4:00. They had to wait awhile though. They had a haunted house at the Fitness center for the trick or treaters.
Hayzel Josoff had her costume on, too...on her head that is!
We had a couple inflatables an a bloody dummy out front.
Millie came home to greet trick or treaters with us. The first to arrive were the Campbell kids.
Collin and Mikey were right behind them. Ty Racin Rice was with them but he moved too fast to get his picture.
Ava and the good witch were so eager to get started trick or treating that she forgot her bag.
The Cronks and the Hogue kids were so cute in their costumes.
Millie wore Joe's light up costume to answer the door.
Erin was as cute as a bug! And as cold as a snowflake!
Alex Callaway, Joe, and Chris Beebee went walking around trying to scare people.
Millie and Raynee...by next year Raynee will be taller than Millie.
The aftermath of Halloween. I had to get rid of the bloody dummy somehow so I let him lounge on the recliner we were throwing away. I was hoping someone would come and take the loveseat and put it on my neighbor's porch but that didn't happen.

Sunday afternoon, just a day after he became the Husker's all time yardage leader and brought Nebraska back in the last minute to beat Michigan State, Taylor Martinez met Draven Campbell when he was on an outing with his family at Scheels. Elmwood Murdock KNIGHTLY NEWS:
Whoot Woo! Good News from Superintendent Dan Novak:
During the week of October 22, 2012, Governor Heineman released to the media the rankings of the top five schools on Nebraska Statewide Testing (NeSA) in the areas of Math, Science, Writing and Reading. Schools were ranked according to the Nebraska School Activities Association classifications which are used for athletics. For the purpose of classification, Elmwood-Murdock is a Class C2 school. I am proud to report Elmwood-Murdock finished 2nd in Science and 4th in Writing of all the Class C2 schools in the State of Nebraska. Elmwood-Murdock is the only ECNC Conference and Cass County School to finish in the top five in two categories of any schools in the conference or county. Elmwood-Murdock is the only school to finish in the top five in writing in Class C2 each of the three years in which assessment results were released. We are very proud of our educational program and are extremely appreciative of the time and effort invested by students and staff in achieving these goals.
