Pink

The Elmwood-Murdock Spirit Squad Fan of the Week is a program to honor those fans who go above and beyond in showing their spirit and/or giving their time and talents to support EM programs. Co-sponsors of the Fan of the Week are Corn Growers State Bank, Heartland Flooring Center, Ball Insurance Services, Josoff's Social Hall and Spohr's Landscaping and Consulting.

Cindy

The Week 1 Fans of the Week are Cindy and Curt Backmeyer. Both are teachers at the school, coaches, and avid fans of Knight sports. They have dedicated a great deal of time and talent to support our Knight programs. Cindy has been particularly supportive of the Spirit Squad, helping with obtaining additional accucut templates for locker signs and posters, supervising and granting access as needed to the work area, providing opportunities for fundraising, as well as giving many encouraging words. Congratulations and Thank-You, Cindy and Curt!

Steven and_Wyatt

The Week 2 Fans of the Week are Steven Olson and Wyatt Stroy. Steven is a senior and Wyatt is a sophomore this year at EMHS. They attend both home and away games whether they are competing or not, and cheer on our teams with positive attitudes and tons of spirit. They shout almost every cheer with the Spirit Squad and even help pick cheers to keep us going. It puts a smile on our all faces to have the support and energy that they provide. Congratulations and thank-you Steven and Wyatt--You are Awesome!!!

Teri

The Week 3 Fan of the Week is Teri Bowman. Teri's 5th and youngest child will graduate from EMHS this year and throughout all those years, Teri has been highly involved and supportive of E-M programs. She has been very involved in Booster Club for years, often helps lead the efforts to decorate for state playoffs, and during Homecoming Week she took the initiative to decorate the senior hallway. She shows her spirit loudly and enthusiastically at games including standing and cheering with the squad. Congratulations and thank-you Teri!

Each Fan of the Week recipient receives a limited edition Fan of the Week t-shirt and has a special designated parking spot at the next home game. Congratulations to each of our award winners and we appreciate your enthusiasm and all that you do!

"Whose Wives Are They Anyway?" Find Out at the Lofte!

Take two company vice presidents and put them on a nice leisurely golf weekend.  Sprinkle in their wives who are out of town on a shopping excursion.  Combine with a new boss who insists on meeting the spouses.  Add a heaping handful of misunderstanding, desperation and top off with a man in a dress.  The result is the hilarious show, "Whose Wives Are They Anyway?" opening at the Lofte Community Theatre in Manley on Saturday, October 20.

Written by the champion of American farce, Michael Parker and Directed by and starring Lofte Artistic Director, Kevin Colbert, "Whose Wives," is a PG-13 story of two men desperately trying to impress their new female boss.  Starring as the hapless "friend to the end" is Lincoln radio personality and Lofte veteran, Mick Kovar.  Playing the intimidating new boss is Melinda Mead of Plattsmouth.  Rounding out the cast is Brenna Jean Thompson of Lincoln, Shari Hoelker of Omaha, Roland Kelley of rural Otoe, Toni Santee of Plattsmouth and Rev. Dr. Renae Koehler of Firth.

The play runs October 20, 21, 26-28 and November 1-4.  Tickets are $17 each.  Curtain times are 7:30pm Thursday through Saturday.  All Sunday performances are 2pm matinees.  Reservations for tickets can be made by calling the Lofte box office at 402.234.2553.
