Tragedy struck our family Tuesday night. Our dog, Betty Boop, was lured into the street by a neighbor cat just as a rock truck was speeding down the hill. It may have been an accident but I have since seen the same cat try to lure our cat to the same fate. I believe it was premeditated murder. Poor Boop didn't stand a chance against the rock truck. She lived about an hour. It was long enough for us to comfort her and say goodbye. She will live forever in our hearts and memories.
The driver of the rock truck may not have even known he hit something...we have to assume that since he didn't stop. We do know that he was going about 60 miles an hour down our street...in town...where lots of kids and dogs and cats are playing.
There is no describing the hole that you feel when you lose a pet. I can't even imagine if it had been a child. Let this be a warning to all of us to watch our speed around town. Look out for the kids, dogs, and cats.
Josoff's Social hall will be hosting the 5th quarter Friday night highlights after every Elmwood- Murdock football game this year!
Come gather with friends, family, and neighbors to watch highlight videos on the big screen, celebrate wins and cheer on the knights! We will have food and drink specials every week! Hope to see you all there!

Elmwood says goodbye this week to Mark and Cynthia Sheldon. Mark has been the minister at the Christian Church in Elmwood for the last 5 or 6 years at least. Their kids were always at the rink and it was a pleasure watching them grow up. You will be missed! Keep in touch! See you on facebook!
