Neighborhood News from 6th Street/East D Street area...

Mike and Colleen Winter are making great progress on their latest renovation. Mike said they had to get the west side of the house painted because I had posted pictures on facebook of a barbque at our house and the house was in the background and it looked bad. We never even noticed!

But since Mike is working so hard on his house Vince has started making progress on the outside of ours, too. The rocks are going up and he put in new window wells last weekend.

I was going to report a theft that occurred at 12:47 am Monday morning but the item has been recovered. We had a couch at the curb to be hauled away and it was scooped up by two mystery men in the wee morning hours. Then about 12:49 am it was deposited on my neighbor's front porch. I'm not sure but I think that at the moment the would be thieves picked up the couch it became theirs and when they regifted it then it became David's.

I did notice tonight that it is in his backyard near his junk pile. I think that means he has accepted it as his own.

Good News Band

The Good News Band will give a free concert at 7 p.m. at the First Christian Church, Weeping Water. At 4:45 p.m., free hamburgers, hot dogs and wonderful food will be given free to everyone who attends. The date is Sunday evening, September 23.

Josoff's Social hall will be hosting the 5th quarter Friday night highlights after every Elmwood- Murdock football game this year!
