Or Sno-Cones...
Or car shows...
Or helicopters at car shows...
Wait a minute...how did that get in a car show? I guess it just landed so they let it in. Kalee Brewer was checking it out.
DRINKING WATER WARNING!!!!
Village of Elmwood will be repairing the water tower; high levels of nitrates may be possible. DO NOT GIVE THE WATER TO INFANTS UNDER 6 MONTHS OLD OR USE IT TO MAKE INFANT FORMULA!
Click here to read more about the Drinking Water Warning.
So what is going on up on the water tower?
The tower is slowly turning white.
Hang tight!
This is the other side. We think they are painting it white so it doesn't blend in so much with the sky. Now it looks like a cloud. Joe and I think it should be hot pink. Now that would make a statement. I'm not sure what the statement would be though.

Barrel Racing News
Local High School Student, Raeanna Jordan, daughter of Jennifer Jordan, Elmwood, has been busy participating in the District 9 Nebraska Barrel Horse Association Circuit. Raeanna got her barrel horse, Mya, last June and started training for the season in September. Raeanna and Mya have been tearing up the barrel racing circuit. Considering it is a brand new sport for both girl and horse they are doing extremely well. With support from her mom and her fiancé, Bill Moss, Raeanna will continue to do well.
Here is a run-down of their schedule and how they have done so far:
Their first barrel race event was the Spring Fling in Columbus, Nebraska on April 22nd. In Columbus they participated in 2 runs, each resulting in a first place finish for their division. They were happy to receive purse money and a NBHA Fleece Jacket for the highest paid horse.
May 12th and May 19th they were in Auburn, Nebraska where they placed first in 1 of the 3 runs.
May 20th they ran in Lincoln and placed first.
June 2nd and June 9th they ran in Lorton, Nebraska and placed first in 2 of the 4 runs.
Upcoming Events:
June 30th—Log Barn Stables, Plattsmouth, NE, 11am
July 13th--Cass Co Fairgrounds, Weeping Water, NE, 8 pm
July 28th-- Log Barn Stables, Plattsmouth, NE, 11 am
August 7th – Lancaster County Fair, Lincoln, NE, 11am
August 10th—Weeping Water, NE, 8 pm
