Was that the Easter Bunny?
No, just Shay, Jordyn, Ariel, and Atticus practicing for the upcoming official Easter Egg Hunt!
Jordyn finds two eggs together and shares the green one with Atticus.
Atti couldn't believe the size of this one!
Shay hid the eggs so she knew where to look.
Then the kids tied their own Easter Eggs!
On to the swing!! They could swing for hours! And they did but they all needed to be pushed and they needed Underdoggies.

For folks who have never played a fiddle or violin, and are brave enough to try, come to the Schoolhouse Fiddle Workshop for Folks Who Have Never Fiddled. Championship fiddler and fiddle book author, Deborah Greenblatt, will share some hints about beginning fiddling, shopping for a fiddle, reading music, playing by ear, etc. Fiddles will be available for participants to play, and source lists and advice for further study will be provided. The Workshop takes place on Saturday, May 14, 2011, 1 PM - 3 PM, in the Old Avoca Schoolhouse, Avoca, Nebraska. Pre-registration is required, enrollment is limted, and there is a $20.00 fee. NOTICE - JOB OPENING
The Village of Elmwood is seeking a full-time maintenance superintendent. Position may require a class 3 water operator license and a grade 2 waste water treatment license. The Village encourages non-licensed individuals who are eager to participate and be trained in advanced water treatment courses to apply. The superintendent's responsibilities will entail but are not limited to; waste water management, water distribution management, snow removal, mowing, basic building maintenance and general village upkeep. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

D.A.R.E. to have Fun!
Teachers from Conestoga showed the kids how to have a good time!
Sheriff Bill Brueggemann, Susie Allgayer, and Deputy Wes Tuttle are together again on wheels!
Brad Josoff, new owner of the old Flying Wheels, tries out his new sound system and lights. Very awesome! Can't wait for you all to see it!
The Weeping Water and Conestoga kids had a great time at the D.A.R.E. skate.
Susie was excited to work at the D.A.R.E. skate so she could join her granddaughter, Mikayla.
These kids learned quick on the Cotton Eyed Joe! They could barely keep up with their teacher though!

We Get By with a Little Help from Friends....
After pushing four kids who were taking turns on one swing Saturday afternoon for hours I knew we had to do something different. A friend donated her old swing set to the cause!
And I rounded up some able bodied men (and Bridget) to haul it to it's new home in our backyard. Thanks to Brody and his hayrack, Kerry, Andrew, Garyn, and Vince were able to move it and get it set up. It needs a little TLC but soon it will be operational.
