Big Thanks to Brody!
Brody Baer was the driving force behind the fireworks stand. The Elmwood Volunteer Fire Department sponsored the booth and Brody coordinated the project. The EVFD members worked the stand and sold the fireworks to eager customers. The proceeds will go to buy needed equipment for the department. The booth they used this year will be the permanent booth for the fireworks sale. Thanks to everyone who helped out! Without you it would have been a boring 4th of July!
OFF to NATIONALS!

Amanda Brewer and Tori Sillman (accompanied by their sponsor Mrs. Vavak) left Saturday morning for Chicago to give their presentation to the FCCLA (Future Career and Community Leaders of America) National Leadership Conference. They are the first students from Elmwood-Murdock High School to reach the National level. The conference runs through Thursday the 8th.
Betty Navrkal had her giant tree cut down this week. It changed the
whole neighborhood. Everyone turned out to watch, too.

Pat Lehr had his tree cut down, too. Lightning struck
it last week so it had to go before it smashed in the house.

Main Street in Elmwood was a mess last Thursday. Dan and his crew were chasing a leak.
They must have found it because they filled in the holes. West D Street got a nice
hosing down.

The village brush pile was burned on Friday. Time to start building it up again!
Remember, trees and brush only, no trash or leaves, or grass clippings.
