First Christian Church 2010 Concert Series
One Voice from Kansas City
April 3, Saturday @ 7PM
Free Admission w/ Love offering taken
Weeping Water First Christian Church 2010 Concert Series starts with an awesome concert on April 3, Saturday at 7PM featuring One Voice. Since it's humble beginnings as a church duet in 1995, One Voice has always had as it's goal to share the gospel of Christ through song. Over the years, that goal has been met over and over as hundreds have chosen Christ as Savior through this ministry, and thousands of others have been blessed through the music of One Voice.
Realizing that their ministry is not just to the congregations, One Voice has as a major goal to uplift and encourage pastors all over the United States and abroad. As the song says, if "just one more soul were to walk down the aisle," it would be worth every effort made on that behalf. Our pastors need support, and the guys are determined to do just that.
The guys see their mission as just that, missions. Musical missions. Hearts can truly be inspired, uplifted, and changed through music. The guys don't take this responsibility lightly, and they choose their music carefully because of that understanding. The power of music is truly awesome, and God sets great store by it. One Voice from Kansas City area have deep roots in Southern Gospel, and it comes out in their traditional Southern Gospel style. The concert is free admission and will be located at the First Christian Church, 306 W. H St. with a love offering taken for the ministry. D.A.R.E. Skate Brings a Huge Crowd
Deputy Wes Tuttle and Sheriff Bill Brueggemann hosted the D.A.R.E. skate for the Louisville, Conestoga, Weeping Water and Elmwood-Murdock fifth graders last Friday. There were approximately 168 kids who skated and played games for a couple hours. They were celebrating the completion of the Drugs Abuse Resistance Education program. They learned about drug abuse and the consequences associated with it. They learned techniques to avoid drugs and that it is okay to have fun without them. The kids were certainly having a good time at the rink! Sheriff Bill and Deputy Tuttle always like to skate during the all girl skate and wear wigs. Sheriff Bill also entertained the kids with magic tricks. It was a wild event but the kids were great!

Abby and Jena

A cool kid!

These two are buddies!

The food was exceptional!

The kids all sign a shirt and then it is hung on the wall.

Derek and Wyatt try to decide how to spend Derek's money.

Jaden, Shelby, Meghan, Gracie, Ericka, and Abby

Gracie Althouse and Jena Meyer

Jason Bevans and Brody Baer volunteered to be floor guards.

Sheriff Bill shows the kids some magic tricks.

And it worked! Shelby was shocked!

More magic.

Jordyn and I rest for a minute.
The Andersons' Go Out in Style...Our Own Style, That is..
Saturday night was the last night for the Anderson's to be running the skating rink. Soon it will be taken over by a new owner and the fun times will roll again! To go out with a bang we had a big party on Sunday. In case you drove by on Sunday you need to know...it wasn't really a party for the Cass County Nudist Society. I don't know if there really is a Cass County Nudist Society but they didn't show up. People came in vans, dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, and strollers for this event. It was mostly skating but some dodgeball.
The Flying Wheels will be closed as we get ready to turn it over to the new owners. Hopefully that makes it easier for them to open the doors. We can't say who the new owners will be until the papers are signed but we have talked to them a lot and they have some great ideas but also are very happy with the way things have been run..in other words...there will still be dodgeball. :) I know some kids and dads were worried about that. As soon as we can we'll introduce them to you in the newsletter and you can come meet them yourself at the rink.
We can't thank everyone enough for making the last four years a blast! We have had many good times that we will never forget! We've enjoyed playing with the kids and have made friendships that will last a lifetime. We will still be seen at the rink...skating is in our blood!
We were just having some fun!

The Anderson men, Darin, Zachary, Aarin, and Vince.

Brad and Katie really get into the theme of the party! Somebody stop them!

Laura pulled the kids all around the floor!

Michele made for a soft ride!

Ariel limbos for the last time with us.

Krista and Ron from Ashland recently found us and quickly joined our Rink Family.

Kabbi and her dad John enjoyed the nachos. Kabbi has been with us from the beginning. The first year
she didn't miss a single Saturday night.

Laura convinced her mom, Michele, to skate...the roller blades didn't last long though.

Dennis and Annie recently joined the rink family.

Emma helped Grandpa Vince make the ice cream.

We are just a little fuzzy but that's the way we are! I hope someone else got a better picture!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive
and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, Mountain Dew in the
other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO what a ride!
Thank you, everyone, for the wild ride, it's only just begun!! Woo Hoo!

KNIGHTLY NEWS from Mr. Friedrich, EM Elementary School Principal
SUMMER KNIGHTS
In previous years we have offered a summer childcare program, called Summer Knights at the school. We have not offered this program for the last two years due to building construction. At this time we are not planning to offer the program this summer. However, I would like to survey parents to see if there is a need and/or interest in this program to continue. I have had two people contact me stating that they would like to see the program continued. I have heard through other sources that more people may be interested. A survey was sent home with students or you can pick one up in the office that will give us some more information regarding our decision whether to offer this program or not. This survey needs to be returned by April 9, 2010. We will need a commitment from at least 15 to 20 students to even consider offering the program again. A final decision regarding this program will be made by April 12, 2010.
BALL FIELD CLEAN-UP
The Baseball/Softball Clean-up Day for the Elmwood and Murdock ball fields scheduled for March 27 has been postponed, due to weather, to Saturday, April 10, beginning @ 9:00 a.m.
