Birthday Fun for Danielle Schutz of Otoe
One day last week, there was a cattle stampede in Elmwood. They escaped from the Meat Locker. They made their way west down D street and had to be rounded up. They saw what happened to the pigs so they made an escape! Whoa, little doggie, head 'em up, move 'em out! If anyone has pictures of this please send them to me!
The Elmwood Murdock Merchants Association, EMMA, invite you to a free pancake feed next Sunday. We would like to thank you for your patronage by hosting the pancake feed. We appreciate your loyalty to your local businesses. We would like to thank Chris Cramer from the Elmwood Meat Plant for donating the sausages for the event. He also donated the two Easter hams to be given away at the pancake feed. Come register to win! A big thanks to Mick Bornemeier for loaning his awesome pancake griddle for us to use. Come to the Elmwood Fire Hall on Sunday and enjoy the pancakes, sausages, and drinks!
"Having A Wonderful Time" at Mahoney State Park
Spring is in the air! The roads are clear, the birds are singing and there's a new wild comedy opening at Mahoney State Park. "Having a Wonderful Time, Wish You Were Her," is a wild bedroom comedy by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Millmore. These playwrights have given us such favorites "Love, Sex and the I.R.S," "Suitehearts," and "Lie, Cheat and Genuflect."
Directed by Kevin Colbert, "Having a Wonderful Time," is filled with double standards, midnight rendezvous and a hungry bear. Danny and Kathy halt their night of passion when Kathy reveals she is dating another man. Paul and Jennifer are frustrated because she is reluctant to cheat on her husband. Danny and Paul are best friends and soon both the confusion and hilarity ensue. If you don't like to laugh, you'd better stay away from this one. We suggest PG13 for some adult situations.
Performance dates are March 13-14, 19-21, 26-28, April 3, 9-11 and 16-18. Curtain times on Fridays and Saturdays is 7:30pm; Sundays are 2pm matinees. Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $6 for children twelve and under. Dinner theater packages are available. Reservations can be made by calling the park office at (402) 944-2523 ext. 7122. A state sticker or day pass is required to enter the park
Press Release
State Legislature Candidate, Nate Louderback, Makes proposal to rein in government spending.
Plattsmouth, Ne - March 8, 2010 - On Wednesday March 3, 2010, Nate Louderback, candidate for the Nebraska Legislature District 2, gave his first radio interview on KNCY Country Radio in Nebraska City, NE with newsman Bill Oliver.
Louderback stated that the unprecedented financial crisis was a deciding factor in the decision to run for office. Louderback specifically stated that the fiscal challenges currently facing the state of Nebraska were not caused by the recent economic crisis, but rather were caused by the decision making of the Legislature while the economy was good. In order to curb spending, Louderback proposed that all state-funded programs be reviewed every ten years to determine whether they should be continued or to adjust funding. This would allow the Legislature to ensure that all programs are funded adequately without being tied to automatic increases.
Louderback also discussed that he will be utilizing social networking tools and has created a Facebook Fan page, as well as a website: http://www.louderbackforlegislature.com .
Nate Louderback graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1998. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Creighton University, a Master's of Politics from New York University, and a Master's of Business Administration from Bellevue University. He works in the financial services industry and lives in Plattsmouth with his wife and two children.
