Alli Kuhlman, daughter of Brent and Robin Kuhlman, Murdock, has organized a fund
raiser for the second year in a row. Shayna Dwyer is helping her plan the fundraiser.
They are selling the shirts and then everyone will wear the shirts to the triangular
volleyball meet with Johnson County Central and Yutan on October 27.
Both varsity and junior varsity girls will be playing. They are selling the shirts
to all teams and fans involved since this is not specific to Elmwood-Murdock...it
is for Breast Cancer Awareness which could affect everyone. Alli designed
the shirts this year with input from the volleyball team. They will be ordered through
ArtFX and can be picked up the night of the game.
In addition to the shirts there will also be a silent auction. They are accepting
donations up until the night of the games. Items that they have collected are
Husker football tickets and cleaning services from the Elmwood-Murdock volleyball
players. The cleaning services offered will be two girls to clean your house, garage,
or yard/garden work for up to four hours at a certain cost. The girls and the bid
winner will discuss the details of the job after the auction. There will also be an
auction that night. The girls hope to have a representative from Breast Cancer
Awareness on hand that night to receive the proceeds.More details to come later!
If you have donations pleas contact Alli or Robin Kuhlman at 402-867-4049

"Lie, Cheat and Genuflect" at the Lofte
Manley, NE September 24, 2009 - Grandpa's passed away
and it's time to read the will! The Lofte Community Theatre
the hilarious comedy, "Lie, Cheat and Genuflect" on October 9.
The fast-paced farce, written by William Van Zandt and Jane Milmore
revolves around the two "black sheep" of the wealthy Buckle family.
Two bumbling brothers fell out of their grandfather's favor several
years ago, and know they don't have a chance at receiving any money.
But, due to a string of unfortunate bets at the track, they're in debt to a
low-rent loan shark. In their desperation, the brothers cook up a scheme
to have one of them pose as their grandfather's favorite, a female cousin
who happens to be a nun! A cast of colorful characters including a
wine-swilling maid and a rookie lawyer add to the mayhem. Director
Kevin Colbert suggests a PG-13 rating for the production, and advises
that some situations may not be suitable for very young children.
Kevin Colbert of Weeping Water plays the scheming brother, Tom,
who has all the answers. Have you ever seen a nun with five o'clock
shadow? A Lofte favorite, Jamion Biesterfeld of Louisville will spend
half his time as brother Billy and the other half as the fictitious "Sister
Fernando." Other cast members include Anne Pope and Christina Tipken
of Eagle, Shari Hoelker of Omaha, Dave Hibler and Kevin Holdorf of Manley,
Performance dates are Oct 9-11, 16-18 and 22-25. Curtain times are
Thursday-Saturday at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets are $16
and may be purchased by calling the Lofte box office at (402) 234-2553
or online at www.Lofte.com.

Kevin Colbert and Jamion Biesterfeld will "Lie, Cheat and Genuflect" to get their Grandfather's fortune!

Saddness in our house this week. Vince's mother passed away Monday. It was not
expected so we were all surprised. Just a reminder to go visit, call or take your mom, grandma,
or great grandma out to lunch this week. We wish we could.
