 Mandatory Water Restrictions for residents that reside in Elmwood Village limits. Effective Immediately!

Odd addresses can water Monday & Thursday Even addresses can water Tuesday & Friday

If you are caught watering on a day that isn't your specified day you will be fined $50 for breaking the mandatory water restrictions. This will be in effect until further notice. 

Living Nativity 2022

Looking for a fun, inspirational, and family-friendly tradition for you, your family, and your friends at Christmastime? You're invited to The 3B Homestead for the 7th annual event of  

The Living Nativity is not a nativity “scene”, but a unique and untraditional presentation of the words from Luke 2. Real stable animals: donkeys, Jacob sheep, goats, cattle, rabbits, poultry, a horse, and more help tell the real meaning of Christmas.   

1)  At the Living Nativity you can help us put together the pieces of the Christmas Story.

The Elmwood-Murdock One Act team continues their successful season! They competed last Friday and Saturday and dominated at both events. Friday evening at York the team received the following awards:

Best Actress: Lily Pope

Saturday afternoon at David City Aquinas the team received the following awards:

Library Improvement Project Completed!

The Elmwood Public Library is proud to announce that it has completed a project to install automated handicap doors! Now any patron who needs a little assistance may easily gain access to the library and all of its services.

The long installation process was completed on Thursday, November 18th. “During the process, we had to redirect some of our patrons around to a side door,” said Library Director Anne Pope. “It was a little bit of an inconvenience that day, but by and large, most people were supportive and very excited to see this project come to fruition!”

The Elmwood Library would like to thank to St. Paul’s UMC, the CWF organization at the Christian Church, American Exchange Bank, the Elmwood Community Association, Vacation Bible School, Bits and Pieces, and Midlands Community Foundation for their support. Pope continued saying, “Each group was so very supportive of this project, and felt that it was an important addition to the Elmwood community.

Our library is extremely lucky to have such wonderful organizations that value an individual’s ability to access public resources. It’s so inspiring.”

The Elmwood Library serves the areas of Elmwood, Murdock, and Eagle.

It’s open Monday through Thursday and Saturday mornings as well.

Elmwood Rescue Squad Recruiting

We are actively recruiting individuals to join our active EMS department! Requirements to Join? 18 years or older and live within the Elmwood Rescue District (photo attached).
We are hosting an EMT class coming up in January right here at the Elmwood Fire Station.

Flyer is attached below for the details.
We offer a ride-along program. This allows you to ride along with the ambulance to see what we do as EMS professionals.

We also provide tuition reimbursement after completion of the EMT class and once you get your state EMT license.

 During the summer of 2022, The Philson family from  Elmwood helped Tom connect with a translator and local driver. Noah Philsonwas already in Ukraine and took the responsibility of logistics, housing, supplies, and food. This allowed Col. Brewer to concentrate on the mission of meeting with government officials, hospitals, and organizations. It was a mission of information, to learn what the people of Ukraine needed and how could the people of the United States help the most.

Village Updates

 Village Board Meeting

Board meetings are open to the public and are held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month.

The meetings are held at the new Village Board office located at the Learning Center on the south side of town. 

Official agendas are posted the day before at the Post Office, Gas Station, and Village Office. Prior to the posting of the agenda, meeting items can be added to the meeting. At the end of each meeting is a Public Comment Section. Attendees have three minutes to speak about anything at this time. Further discussion on the topic can then be added to the next board meeting.  

The agenda is posted at the Elmwood C-Store, the post office, and the Village office.

Minutes can be viewed at the Village office or can be found online.
