Guess the Book
Here is the 2nd edition of the GUess the Book exhibit at the Bess Streeter Aldrich House and Museum. Mrs. Brenda Vogt the first book in this series out loud to the class in 5th grade back in the 1990s.
Every week I will post ONE photo of a room or display and all you have to do is email the name of the book to me editor@elmwoodnebraska.com and get entered to win in April. A prize will be given to the person who sends in the most correct answers AND to the person who sends me the most guessing.
Charlotte's Web by E.B. White
Last week's book was Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. It was actually the first book I remember my mother reading to me out loud at night during bedtime when I was in kindergarten. I had several people email me the answer.
Make sure to stop by the museum to see the rest of Charlotte's Web exhibit. Complete with Wilbur.
Check out the lunches served at the Elmwood Community Center during February. Porcupine Meatballs, shepherd's pie, beef stroganoff with mushrooms with Brussell sprouts, and roasted cauliflower. The desserts even sound better, on February 21st it's chocolate mousse with raspberries, oh my gosh!!

Village Board Meeting
Board meetings are open to the public and are held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month.
The meetings are held at the new Village Board office located at the Learning Center on the south side of town.
Official agendas are posted the day before at the Post Office, Gas Station, and Village Office. Prior to the posting of the agenda, meeting items can be added to the meeting. At the end of each meeting is a Public Comment Section. Attendees have three minutes to speak about anything at this time. Further discussion on the topic can then be added to the next board meeting.
The agenda is posted at the Elmwood C-Store, the post office, and the Village office.
Minutes can be viewed at the Village office or can be found online.
Wouldn't it be amazing if the board meetings were FULL every time? This is your opportunity to be involved, be "in the know" and learn how to influence how your community grows, how improvements can be made, and how you can participate in the steps needed to MAKE IT HAPPEN.
