New Year - New Resolutions

It is official 2020 is over, with good riddance!! We won't even talk about it any longer. It's a new year, new habits, new projects, and a new outlook on life. Who is with me?

Did you know the Elmwood website is ranked #1 in Google? When ANYONE searches for Elmwood Nebraska they find www.elmwoodnebraska.com (ok, Wikipedia is first, but they don't count) The same is true of Murdock.

So it's VERY easy to find the weekly news and the link at the top to SUBMIT NEWS

Who wants to concentrate on the good things happening in our community? Who wants to make Elmwood a place where you don't want to leave, you want to encourage people to come and enjoy what makes us special and a great place to live, work, and play.

Maybe you have decided to start a local business. I do know last year's Farmers Market has people planning for this year. Some great things are going to be happening!!

Maybe you created a local exercise challenge, reading club, knitting club, or reading about a knitting club!

Did you meet someone at the park that was cleaning up, a preschool group taking a class trip, even a cute dog. Take a photo, strike up a conversation, find out if they are from town, visiting, where they are from. We in Elmwood have a reputation for being friendly. It's not nosey.

I have met so many people at the park that were staying at the local AirBnB's or had initially run at the MArket to Market race and wanted to return.

Hey, maybe a photographer was taking family photos at the Gazebo, yup that was me, and what a beautiful Christmas backdrop. Think of Senior photos, weddings, music in the park.

Maybe you like to play the guitar, and want to start a jam session on Sunday afternoons...hey that's cool!!

I can post that, people can go over to the park and you can have an audience during "practice"

New Village Office Hours

Thank you to Jeff Clymer for his hard work on his FIRST snow event. I can't imagine being in his shoes. New town, new equipment and unlike the long-term town maintenance manager, Jeff doesn't know where all the "dips and divots" are.

There is no "road map" of where to plow first in what direction to maximum efficiency. He doesn't have his shortcuts down yet. If we learned anything in the previous year it is to have a bit of patience, grace, and understanding. It goes a long way.

As of January 2021, the Village of Elmwood requests that all utility bills be deposited in the new dropbox. The village would like everyone to discontinue using the box at the old office

The free pantry is here to serve our community. It is for neighbors helping neighbors. Take what you need or leave what you can.
