Merry Christmas Elmwood!

It's a Griswold Christmas

I have a special love for nativity scenes and this one is on the west side of town by the school.

Reflection Circle working on this nativity scene back in the 90’s. Joyce & Greg Vogt cut out the figures and the Reflection Circle painted them.

Living Nativity Local Tradition

What a wonderful podcast and narration of the Christmas Story. It was a drive-through experience, but actually a more reflective opportunity to sit in your car, by yourself to sit and pray, reflect and remember the real reason for the season.

It takes about 30 minutes to go through 20 stations of narration. You can listen to it here on their website.

Even rabbits can teach us how to remain still, listen.

It was so appropriate this year to be outside and reminded of the "Bethlehem Star" If anyone got a photo of the planets Jupiter and Saturn convergence 

I love the story of the donkeys. They carried Mary to Bethelem, but also carried Jesus on Palm Sunday. Note the cross on their back?

The gates are open this week for you to drive through. You can even visit the 3BHomestead website on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. 

Learn through the animals how they participate, are mentioned in the Bible, and reflect God's creation

Again this year, we are helping excited Kiddo's track Santa Claus - as he leaves the North Pole - and delivers toys all over the world!

It takes a Village

When the Christmas lights went up in Elmwood it was discovered that several of the fuse boxes were blown. Here is Jim with OPPD to the rescue. They do a great job. They were restoring power to our blown out (some literally) fuse boxes which power our Christmas lights. Boxes were damaged from the summer lightning storm..

The SECOND PICT I put in a new dropbox in at the village office 221 South 4th Street.

As of January 2021, the Village of Elmwood requests that all utility bills be deposited in the new dropbox. The village would like everyone to discontinue using the box at the old office

The free pantry is here to serve our community. It is for neighbors helping neighbors. Take what you need or leave what you can.

Here are some ideas that may be useful:

• Pasta
• Spaghetti sauce
• Canned soup
• Granola bars and snacks
• Fruit snacks
• Dry soup mixes
• Canned meat (chicken, tuna etc)
• Boxed prepared meal kits (hamburger helper etc)
