What is your GOOD News?
Yes, there is GOOD news that is coming out of this COVID-19 event. People are reconnecting with family. People are playing games, getting creative and learning to appreciate what they took for granted. We have all slowed down, maybe you have started a new hobby, spent time improving a talent, or sharing your talent through Facebook Live.
Easter Egg Hunts
The physical Easter Egg Hunts have been postponed, but that doesn't mean we still can't have a DRIVE-By Easter Egg hunt. Hang Plastic Easter Eggs on your trees. Drive the kids around, or take a walk down the street in the fresh air and see how many Easter Eggs you can find.

Follow the Elmwood Library Facebook Page for how online Book Club will be held.

StoryTime is being held online.

Have you gotten used to the "Stay at Home" Order?
Maybe you are bonding with your family, doing jigsaw puzzles, games, or maybe going for a walk outside with the kids. Some of the families have started a "Bear Hunt". People place stuffed bears in their windows and kids search for them.

The Elmwood Fire Department took a tip from Murdock and is volunteering to shop for those who need to stay at home due to age or are immune suppressed.
The Quonset Restaurant is making sure we don't miss out on Taco Tuesday or wing Wednesday.

American Exchange Bank will limit lobby & office access at our Elmwood and Eagle locations to “by appointment” only as a precautionary measure beginning today. We ask that you use our drive-through lanes, ATM machines, and Online Banking systems for standard banking business during this time. We will also accept appointments by phone for business requiring lobby access or in-office visits.
This temporary restriction is made out of an abundance of caution in response to a Directed Health Measure issued by Governor Pete Ricketts last week affecting Cass, Douglas, Sarpy, and Washington counties. We simply wish to do anything we can to help prevent the potential spread of the virus over the coming weeks. These changes will remain in place until April 30th, coinciding with the Governor’s guidance.
Please be assured we remain ready to serve ALL of your banking needs; just in a slightly different way for now. If you or someone you know requires special accommodations to conduct banking business during this time, please let us know and we will help any way we can.
We greatly appreciate your understanding during this unprecedented time. Please feel free to call the bank at (402)994-4000 if you have any questions.

Take It Or Leave It Pantry
You may have forgotten about the Elmwood Take-it-or-Leave food pantry, but it is even more important than ever. Many in our community are going to have children at home who have depended on school lunches and the BackPack program for weekend supplemental nutrition.
The free pantry is here to serve our community. It is for neighbors helping neighbors.

Those who wish to contribute may do so at their discretion when convenient. Take what you need or leave what you can. If the box if full please bring your items back later. So what should you contribute? During this coronavirus situation, there will be an increased need for healthy snack items for kids. Obviously items like toilet paper, sanitizer may be needed by many.
Please avoid harsh strong-smelling chemicals that may transfer to food items.
Here are some ideas that may be useful:
- Pasta
- Canned pasta
- Canned soup
- Granola bars
- Fruit snacks
- Dry pasta
- Spaghetti sauce
- Dry soup mixes
- Canned meat (chicken, tuna etc)
- Boxed prepared meal kits

The 24-hour pantry is located on the west side of the Village office on west C Street, behind Bits N Pieces and at the entrance of the Elmwood Meat Plant.

Important Public Announcement
From The Board of Directors of The Lofte Community Theatre:
In an effort to do our part to help flatten the curve of COVID-19, The Lofte Community Theatre will be closed to the public until further notice. Only essential personnel will be allowed in the building during this time.
This means the following changes to our upcoming events and productions:
An Evening With Kaylynn Sahs on March 28 has been canceled. The box office has contacted current ticket holders.
Our opening production, Office Hours, will not take place on April 17-19 and 23-26.
The rest of our season is being re-evaluated as this situation continues to evolve.
We are greatly saddened to have to make these decisions but, the safety and well-being of the community that is the heart of our theatre must come first.
We ask for your patience as we work through this difficult situation. We will, of course, continue to monitor the situation and make any additional adjustments as necessary. Updates on this evolving situation will be made via email, Lofte.org, and social media.
We look forward to having the barn back open and having our Lofte Community together again. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time.
If you are open for business in local community, please submit your business information here
(there is no charge for being listed)
1 in 5 Nebraska people that receive their Corona Virus Check next week is fortunate enough to not have any real pressing need.
Many of these people want and would help small businesses, but there is no obvious (and non offensive) to invest and support.
There is a better that 3 times benefit to the Community, for every dollar invested in the Survival of the Small Business Community.
Small Business Owners, with shuttered Doors need cash now - to retain critical employees, pay rent and cling to their customers.
With that in Mind: We Launched CassLocal.com We need all Small Cass, Sarpy and Otoe Businesses to add their information here
We really Encourage all small businesses to get a Square acct - so the can offer Gift Cards ( Video ) and/or a PayPal Donate Acct
Gift Cards may seem unusual for a small mechanic or plumbing firm, but the idea is simple: Critical Cash injection now, wonderful goods and services later.
Any Business, with a Square, or PayPal acct - can offer it in their CassLocal.com listing and the navigation of the site will change as the numbers, and kinds of businesses develop.
Bottom Line, is we need Businesses to Join Here - and Churches / Non Profit Organizations Here
Nebraska helping Nebraska - we do not have to wait for the Federal Government, lets just Get"R" Done!
