The Holiday Extravaganza Schedule is THIS Saturday!
Kick it off with a Pancakes at the Firehall and bringing your little ones to see Santa
Of instead eat pancakes then visit the G.A.R. Hall Veterans Museum which will be open all day. Don't forget Bit's N' Pieces for your Christmas trees and decorations. They will run out fast. They always do.
Candy Cane Lane at the Community Center will have crafts and goodies to purchase and the Elmwood Library has several activities for the kids.

The library will have several special activities during the Holiday Extravaganza. Kids can decorate a sugar cookie, watch a holiday movie (11am), get artsy with a coloring page, or pick out a Christmas storybook!
Note: all "ugly" cookies may be donated to the librarians and staff for proper disposal - tee hee!
Make your plans, create a strategy of how you can participate in everything and not miss out.

Make sure to print off this coloring page and turn it into the Elmwood Convenience store. Prizes will be given for various age groups. There is even an ADULT category. So break out your colored pencils or pens and show off your artistic talent.

Veterans G.A.R. Hall Veterans Museum
The G.A.R. Hall and Veterans Museum would like to include a display of "I Remember" stories from veterans and/or their families at the museum.
Submit special memories - maybe it was your first Christmas away from family, maybe it was spent in basic training, deployed, in the jungles of Vietnam, on the desert of Afghanistan, on a ship in the middle of the ocean, etc.
For the families, maybe it was a special phone call from a far-away service member.
"I Remember" stories can be submitted to garhallvet@windstream.net or mailed to Elmwood G.A.R.Hall Veterans Museum, c/o 402 East D Street, Elmwood 68349, for display during the 2019 Holiday Extravaganza.

Starry Knight Parade
It will be here before you know it.
The Starry Knight parade happens at night. So how do you see the entries? Lights? Lights strung around tires, on floats. but lights with no extension cords. Battery-powered lights. Think about having an entry this year. Gather your groups, organization, or business and come up with something fun and imaginative.

Don't miss the Parade of Homes in the Elmwood-Murdock Area
Tour six homes decorated for the Christmas Holiday season. Get inspiration, ideas and kick off the holiday season with some of the most festive homes in the area. Have you wanted to tour the new townhomes? Then this is your chance.
Tickets are only $12 on the day of the event and proceeds go to the Bess Streeter Aldrich House and Museum.

Elmwood - Murdock 4th Graders selling Bakers Chocolates
Since 1992 the Elmwood-Murdock 4th graders have been selling Bakers chocolate meltaways to raise money for their Spring Nebraska History field trip. This year the selling season is extended. Not only will they be selling to neighbors friends and family, but they will be extending their reach and hopefully funds raised.

You can purchase one-pound bags for $9.50 from any 4th grader or at the following locations.
Elmwood-Murdock Holiday Craft Show - November 30th

Living Nativity Returns to Cass County
This living nativity is the only one in the state of Nebraska. It is quickly becoming an annual tradition with local families.

Stop by on the following dates. Bring a friend and consider bringing your local church youth group. This would not be possible without the volunteers of local residents and 4-H clubs who donate their time and several animals for the various nativity scenes.

Youth groups and other civic groups do litter pick-up, sponsor Easter egg hunts, collect food for those less fortunate and meet for crafting, among lots of other events.
Be sure to check the calendar to the right for upcoming events, also.
