Don't forget to stop by on Thursday nights for Line Dancing lessons, yup, every week on Thursday nights, I believe at 7:00. Great music and a great time.

Halloween is just as much fun as Christmas and it's only getting bigger.

The Christian Church Trunk or Treat was a big success and so was the Elementary School Trick or Treat event.

I hope you have taken a look around town and enjoyed the fall decorations and Halloween decorations BEFORE it snowed.

Last Saturday was the perfect day to take the dogs to the part and reflect on the future design, walking paths, possible exercise equipment, and maybe even a "dog station".

Did you see the Gazebo going up? It's going to be epic when it's finished!!

2020 is looking good for a possible calendar line up of activities and events. Do you want to get in on the planning?

 The paved sidewalks will lead to a new parking lot area on the south side of the park. Accessibility sidewalks are also being poured from the existing parking lot to the picnic area. Something that has been desperately needed!!

The Starry Knight parade happens at night. So how do you see the entries? Lights? Lights strung around tires, on floats. but lights with no extension cords. Battery-powered lights. Think about having an entry this year. Gather your groups, organization, or business and come up with something fun and imaginative.

Short Story Contest 

Generate a fictional short story that is written in the wholesome spirit displayed by Bess Streeter Aldrich in her works while incorporating a theme that focuses on Nebraska’s family life, economy, history, cultural diversity, and/or geography (past, present, and/or future). Writers are encouraged to focus on historical and/or realistic topics. This year the Aldrich Foundation is paying tribute to Mrs. Aldrich’s book Spring Came on Forever and it would be an excellent resource.

When your group or club meets for an event, take some photos and send them to me with a summary of what was happening and I'll post them here in the Elmwood Newsletter. 

Readers want to see involvement in and around our village.  It not only helps to promote our town, but it could create interest in joining your group.

Youth groups and other civic groups do litter pick-up, sponsor Easter egg hunts, collect food for those less fortunate and meet for crafting, among lots of other events.
