Board of Trustees Regular Meeting - May 16, 2012
The Village of Elmwood Board of Trustees met in regular session with Trustees Wilhelm, Allgayer, Clymer and Chairman Ernst presiding. All signed the “Notice of Acknowledgement of Meeting”. Absent: Ronhovde.
Chairman Ernst declared the Open Meeting Act Posted at 7:11 p.m. Jim Nelson, Ed Blunt and Nicole Folden were also in attendance.
Minutes from the meeting on May 2, 2012 were presented. Allgayer motioned to approve the minutes as presented, 2nd by Wilhelm. RCV: Aye: Allgayer, Wilhelm, Clements and Ernst. Nay: None. Absent: Ronhovde.
Ronhovde entered the meeting at 7:15 p.m.
Streets: No Action Taken.
Park: Motion by Ronhovde to purchase 3 loads of woodchips @ $150 2nd by Clements RCV: Aye: All Nay: None. Motion approved.
Library: No Action Taken.
Water: Blunt reported the Village is in need of additional water meters. Motion by Allgayer to approve the purchase of up to 10 new water meters, 2nd by Wilhelm. RCV: Aye: All, Nay: None. Motion approved.
Sewer: Blunt reported the benefits of purchasing an electric hoist. Motion by Ronhovde to allow the purchase of an electric hoist costing up to $250.00. RCV: Aye: All, Nay: None. Motion approved.
Comp & Zoning: No Action Taken.
Planning Committee: Discussion of request made by Planning and Zoning Commission for the Village Board of Trustees to approve adding Pat Beckman and Brent Jensen to the Planning Commission. Motion by Allgayer approving Pat Beckman and Brent Jensen to be on the Planning and Zoning Commission . 2nd by Ronhovde. RCV: Aye: All, Nay: None. Motion approved.
Community Development: No Action Taken.
Presentation of the Claims:
Payroll - $3,065.92, Midwest Farmers Co-op - $128.57, Great Plains One-Call Service - $10.10, Mick’s Diesel Repair, Inc. - $33.36, Nebraska Department of Revenue - $897.08, Municipal Supply, Inc. of Nebraska - $490.45, United Systems Technology - $675.00, Midwest Laboratories, Inc. - $71.78, Clements Insurance Agency - $12,108.00, Nebraska Public Health Environmental Laboratory - $12.00, Columbus Telegram - $325.36
Motion by Allgayer to approve claims presented with the exception of Clements Insurance Agency, 2nd by Wilhelm. RCV: Aye: All Nay: None. Motion approved to pay claims. Clements Insurance Agency invoice will not be paid at this time.
Unfinished Business: Blunt reported a new meter was put in for Terry Bevans. He will check the meter periodically to get an average of usage and the board will determine any credit due to Ms. Bevans.
New Business: Discussion about sending letters to owners of abandoned houses asking their intentions for the abandoned houses so the Village can decide whether or not to pursue condemnation. Motion by Allgayer to approve sending letters to owners of abandoned houses, 2nd by Wilhelm. RCV: Aye, All. Nay: None.
Building Permits: No Action Taken
Personnel Issues: No Action Taken.
Correspondence: No Action Taken.
There being no further business, Chairman Ernst declared the meeting adjourned at 10:05p.m.
