Meeting Held at Elmwood Village Office

The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, July 5 ,2023. Chairperson Jared Blunt called the meeting to order at 6:15pm. Discussion/Action Conditional Use Permit for 112 North 4th Street – Commercial Zoned building to be occupied as living quarters on Main street                                                                                                                                                 

Property Owners were notified on the violation of Elmwood Village Zoning Ordinances on January 25th, May 10th and August 16th of 2022 that using a building zoned C-2, General Highway Commercial, for residential use is not permitted.  Planning and Zoning Committee updated Elmwood’s Comprehensive plan and Zoning book August 17,2022. The board stated that this request to turn this store front into a main street apartment in C-2 General Highway Commercial would be going against our projected business growth of our comprehensive plan. Motion by Heather to deny the conditional Use Permit, second by Holland. RCV: Yes: Approved 5-0                                                                                                                                          

Discussion/Action Kevin’s Grade 4 Water Test Results                                                                                                                             

Kevin didn’t pass his grade 4 water test and would like to re-take the water class course again. Motion by Heather to allow Kevin to retake the water class in September 6-8,2023 in Fremont, second by Renee. RCV: Yes: Approved 5-0

Backup Generator report said that the backup generator will need a new battery so Kevin will price it out from Meeske Auto Parts. Future Agenda

Discussion/Action 2 trees removed at 204 E 5th Street – Tree Bid from Christensen Tree Service                                                       

Holland makes a motion to approve Christiansen Tree Service Bid of $3,760 for removal of dead/diseased trees located at 304 E 5th Street, second by Kicak. RCV: Yes: Approved 5-0

Discussion/Action bids on fixing the soffit on the water treatment plant building                                                                                     

Motion by Scott to approve Eager Roofing Quote of $800 to fix and patch the aluminum soffit on the water treatment plant building, second by Kicak. RCV: Yes: Approved 5-0
