The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. Chairperson Jared Blunt called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. Blunt stated that a current copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act was posted.
Roll Call: Answered by Heather Scott, Becky Kicak, Renee Holland, Miki Bruns & Jared Blunt.
Minutes: Bruns made it clear that Planning and Zoning does not approve the building permits. Bruns made a motion, second by Scott to approve meeting minutes for September 21,2022. RCV: Yes: Approved 5-0
Claims and payroll: Holland made a motion, 2nd by Bruns to approve claims & payroll for September 29,2022 & October 4,2022. RCV: Yes: Approved 5-0

Bruns made a motion to approve the purchase of a new computer and the appropriate computer programs for $906.51 for the water treatment plant, second by Scott. RCV: YES: Approved 5-0

Park: Holland mowed the park this last weekend. Jeff Holland volunteered to help mow when needed and the board would like him to sign a liability waiver.
Streets: No Report
Water: Ed reported that the Static pressure drawdowns were done today. Geologist is coming next week to suggest site for new well. Park is an option to consider. Brad is looking into the park well when it was operational. No water up by the cemetery. Water usage was 118-120 thousand gallons and now we are at 88 thousand gallons. Ed said everyone is doing a good job with abiding by our water restrictions. Ed also said due to the extreme dry conditions and the ground freezing that we should be watching for any water main breaks.
Sewer: Roger came to help Ed fish for the sewer pump but couldn’t get it out of the tank. Ed must drain the sewer oxidation ditches to get direct access to the submerged pump for removal.

Bonnie Brewer-402 East D Street
Complained about Renee mowing the park while people were eating and mower kept going while kids were present. Bonnie also suggested an incentive for reduction of water.

Discussion/Action Update on start date for Maintenance Supervisor Position
We currently don’t have a start date for the New Maintenance Supervisor who accepted the position. Board suggests he needs to provide a start date, or we move on with posting the job again.
