Meeting Held at Elmwood Village Office
The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Chairperson Miki Bruns called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. Blunt stated that a current copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act was posted.
Roll Call: was answered by Heather Scott, Becky Kicak, Renee Holland, and Miki Bruns. Absent: Jared Blunt
Minutes: Scott made motion, second by Kicak to approve meeting minutes from June 15,2022. RCV: Yes Approved 4-0
Claims and payroll: Holland made a motion, 2nd by Scott to approve claims & payroll for June 14th, 2022. RCV: Yes: Approved 4-0

Discussion/Action John Powers cat follow up
Motion by Holland, second by Scott to send a letter to John Powers giving him until July 1st to license his cats otherwise a penalty will be enforced. RCV: YES: Approved 4-0
Discussion/Action Moriah’s Annual Review
Everyone didn’t turn in their Performance review packets in time so therefore we will need to put this on future agenda for next meeting. Motion by Kicak to backdate Moriah’s pay following the June 15th meeting if there are any changes, second by Holland. RCV: YES: Approved 4-0
Discussion/Action Summer Helper (Levi’s) Performance Review
Ed reported to the board that Levi is doing a great job with following directions and getting his tasks done in a very quick timely manner. Holland made a motion to give Levi a $2.00 raise effective 6/16/2022, second by Kicak. RCV: YES: Approved 4-0
Discussion/Action service/report on the sewer generator
Information only but Bruns told Ed to check around and see if there is a closer company to service the generator and get some bids to present to the board.
Discussion/Action removal of dying tree at 313 N 3rd Street – Alexis Campbell
Bruns stated that this will have to be on the next fiscal budget but asked Ed to get a bid from Christensen Tree Service and to make sure the bid will be good past September 2022.
Discussion AMGL’S letter of acceptance & understanding of services provided to the Village

Discussion/Action nuisance properties 204 East D Street, 208 East D Street & 321 East D Street
Bruns informed the town people that showed up in regards to this that now that the Animal Safety Sub-Committee has addressed the complaints that it is now in the Attorney’s hands and directive on what we proceed with next. Progress is still being made and we will continue to get this matter addressed.

Library: Motion by Holland to approve the Claims & Payroll for May 16th – June 6,2022, second by Scott. RCV: YES: Approved 4-0. Bruns stated that the library will need to get bids from an electrician to have the electrical stuff done, Ed will go look at the lightbulbs.

Park- Streets: Levi sprayed the weeds on the trail at the park. Ed fixed the leaking ball valve at the concessions stand, Concrete tables are removed, and the new tables are installed at the Ballfield Park. Pie ride will be held tomorrow at the Christian Church, music will be in the park at the gazebo. Street: Ed reported that people are dumping inappropriate things at the brush site like railroad ties. Board asked Moriah to make a Notice and post it regarding what is acceptable and not acceptable at the brush site.
Water: We will start into the process of breaking ground on drilling the test well in the next couple weeks. 10 people will need to get water samples to send in samples to check the levels of lead and copper.
Sewer: No Report
Planning/Zoning: Next meeting is June 20, 2022 at 7:00pm.
Public Comment:
Eugenia Bornemeier – 217 East Street When I was on the Library board we had an account that was called the “Sinking Fund” that helped fund the building Maintenance.
Betty Navrkal Attebery – 104 N 6th Street
Mike Jensen is more than welcome to come on my rental property to get a clearer view when doing his inspection of 208 West D Street.
