Meeting Held at Elmwood Village Hall
The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. Chairperson Jared Blunt called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Blunt stated that a current copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act was posted.

Minutes: Holland made a motion, seconded by Kicak to approve May 4,2022 meeting minutes. RCV: Yes: Approved 4-0
Claims & Payroll: Holland made a motion, seconded by Scott to approve the Claims and Payroll for May 17,2022 RCV: Yes: Approved 4-0

Discussion/Action Pay wage for mowing helper Dylan Bruns
We needed someone to step in and mow before Levi started as the summer helper so Dylan being a past Summer helper employee agreed to help out with mowing. Kicak made a motion to pay Dylan $12/hr based off the pay wage he ended on, second by Holland. RCV: YES: Approved 4-0
Discussion/Action Appoint Animal Safety Subcommittee
Motion by Kicak to appoint Jennifer Brettmann, Charity Baker, and Renee Holland as the Animal Safety Committee members, second by Scott. RCV: YES: Approved 4-0
Discussion/Action Nuisance homes in Elmwood
Board discussed how to enforce lawns and homes. No Action taken.
Discussion/Action Harvest Moon Hustle – September 9,2022
Motion by Holland to approve Harvest Moon Hustle September 9,2022 in the Bess Streeter Aldrich Park, Second by Scott. RCV: YES: Approved 4-0
Discussion/Action Written complaints about feral cats in town
Moriah has received 18 in counting written complaints regarding the feral cat population on D street and the unsafe building structures and cluttered Yards. One neighbors house cat that was on a tethered line in their yard was attacked by one of these feral cats and had to be cared for by a vet due to the injuries. These complaints will be handed over and addressed at a hearing by the Animal Safety Committee.

Library: Needs some electrical stuff done and needs to get bids back to the Village board for approval.
Park: Bathroom leaks at the ballfield are fixed. Ed put new tires on the mower because the old ones didn’t have much traction. Spring toys need to be installed.
Streets: No Report
Water: Water levels are still steady. Meter in well#5 broke and not under warranty so Core & Main is going to get us a bid on what a rebuild costs verse a new meter.
Sewer: No report
Planning/Zoning: Next meeting is June 20, 2022 at 7:00pm

I was wondering how many letters have been sent out to people about mowing their yards. Quite a few nuisance homes like the one located next to Blake Ulmer’s property.

I appreciate you guys tackling this cat issue.
Ed Blunt – 104 Railroad Ave
I was approached today from a John Henry’s employee, and he told me that 208 West D Street is wanting water hooked back up but that there isn’t any water pressure and he relayed that to the homeowner. I told them that it’s something on their end and not the Villages with the low water pressure.
