Now I know how the couple felt in 101 Dalmations…the puppies just kept coming and coming! The vet said Chevy would have maybe six puppies. Boy was he wrong! Chevy had ten puppies! Talk about an over achiever! Chevy actually belongs to our neighbor, Kevin Stubbendick. Kevin is gone for his job a lot so we get to help take care of her. Chevy is an awesome dog and we all love her. When she turned up pregnant this spring we wondered where she would have the puppies. Well, she had them in our kitchen last Thursday morning. It was cold outside and we had to bring her in. Chevy is a Walker Hound and the daddy is whatever came down the alley. There are eight boys and two girls. So far the girls are spoken for…pending parental approval, of course. All of the puppies have white tips on their tales and their feet are all white. Seven of them are black and white while three of them are a bluish gray color with black spots. Just listen to me going on and on…you would think I was the proud grandma! Stay tuned for more tales from the kitchen about the puppies. Anyone interested in reserving one should contact me! PLEASE!!!

The beginning of spring signaled the flowers to start blooming. Easter morning I had these flowers poking through the leaves that I still have not raked. I better get busy with that project!

If you were at the Easter Egg hunt at the elementary school you may have thought you saw Harvey. The Easter bunny was on hand for pictures and to encourage the kids to go find the eggs. He was one really tall rabbit!! The FBLA sponsored the event for toddlers through fourth grade. It was cold but they braved it to find their eggs. I suspect the rabbit was warm though.
(Now, don’t you want to go watch that old Jimmy Stewart movie? They just don’t make them like that anymore.)

If pancakes aren’t your thing…head on down to the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Elmwood the same day. With a little assistance from the women the men will be cooking up a delicious spaghetti dinner complete with garlic bread, a variety of salads and desserts. If you plan ahead you could have breakfast in Murdock at the Fire Station and then cruise by the Methodist Church in Elmwood for lunch! If you call ahead carry out is available at the Church so you could even have it for dinner.
