Also, on Feb 17th there will be a Bess Streeter Aldrich Birthday Celebration Open House from 1-5pm. This will honor the 126th birthday of the author. Enjoy birthday cake & punch, a guided tour through the historic Aldrich home. Admission is $3 adults, $2 children.

There is a lot of school stuff happening. When you don’t have a school student you probably don’t know all the things going on. But I think that in fact, many community members actually do enjoy and would like to purchase/participate in the school activities. Some of my sources don’t necessarily always provide very detailed info and how to purchase things if you don’t have contact with a school student. So keep in mind that if you have questions or how you can purchase something the students are selling, contact the respective elementary or Jr/Sr. high school.

Baseball/Softball registration will be Feb 8th during the Parent/Teacher conference. (Reminder – NO SCHOOL this day!) Please visit the registration table for info. At the time of registration you will need to pay. Registration will end on Feb 28th. As their major fund raiser, parents will be selling Waffle Man tickets.

Help the E-M school financially by turning in your Hy-Vee grocery store receipts to the schools. For every $100 in receipts collected the school will earn $1.

The E-M volley ball team has “Knight” window decals for sale, $6 ea. Supplies are limited. If you would like to purchase, contact a freshman volleyball player or the school, 867-2341.

KnightLife Events is taking orders for flowers and goodie bags that will be delivered to staff and students at the Murdock school site on Feb 14th, Valentines Day. Orders and payments are due by Monday, Feb 12th. Roses are $2/stem, Carnations $1/stem, and goody bags are $1.

From the Editor - Community, I Need Your Help!
**For February, I am in need of a story about what early Elmwood would have been like (50 years ago) to post on our web site under History and Traditions.

Good Luck Knights on your “Qwest” for the win at the Annual Omaha Shootout!
Don’t forget to send me your valentine messages for next week’s newsletter!
Have another great and cold week!
