VILLAGE OF ELMWOOD

Board of Trustees Regular Meeting – October 16, 2013

 

The Village of Elmwood Board of Trustees met in regular session with Trustees Allgayer, Ronhovde, Wilhelm, Clements, and Chairman Ernst presiding. The meeting was called to order at 7:07 p.m. All attending signed the “Notice of Acknowledgement of Meeting”. Chairman Ernst declared the Open Meeting Act posted. Ed Blunt, Gonzalo Romero, and Pat Beckmann were also present.

 

Motion by Clements to approve the minutes of the October 2nd Board Meeting as presented; second by Allgayer. Vote: Yes: All, No: None. Motion carried.

 

Reports of Boards, Commissions, and Committees:

Street: Motion by Clements to approve the purchase of a new cutting edge for the tractor at $300.00; second by Ronhovde. Vote: Yes: All; No: None. Motion carried.

Park: Park benches will be picked up. M2M: There were 500 teams w/6-8 team members each, raising approximately $2,000.00 for the park. Clements presented bid to rehab concrete for basketball court including sealing cracks and adding 2 ft of concrete to perimeter of court. Allgayer motioned to table until questions answered.

Library: No Report.

Water: Utility Service inspection of water tower okay. Water hydrant repair discussed. Motion by Allgayer to approve the installation of water shutoff valves on two hydrants; second by Wilhelm. Vote: Yes: All, No: None. Motion carried.

Sewer: Maintenance Supervisor will attend class Oct 22nd in Eagle, NE. UV lights are out and cleaned.

Comp/Zoning: No Report.

Planning: No Report.

Special Events: Report

Safety: No Report.

To Do List: Doors ordered.

 

Old Business: 208 West C St building permit: Motion by Allgayer to approve the building permit for 208 West C St; second by Wilhelm. Vote: Yes: All, No: None. Building permit approved.

Street striping will be completed Spring 2014.

New Business: Motion by Ronhovde to approve the purchase of a new flag for the village office not to exceed $40.00; second by Clements. Vote: Yes: All, No: None. Motion carried. Kennel Permit for 120 West C St: Motion by Wilhelm to approve the Kennel Permit for 120 West C St pending receipt of rabies certificates; second by Ronhovde. Vote: Clements-Yes, Allgayer-No, Ronhovde-Yes, Ernst-Yes, Wilhelm-Yes. Kennel Permit approved.

 

Presentation of Claims for Payment: AkSarBen Pipe & Sewer Cleaning $3,000.00; Columbus Telegram $158.48; MADS Inc. $195.00; Meeske Ace Hardware $34.83; Midwest Farmers Cooperative $493.23; Midwest Laboratories $167.70; One Call Concepts $12.35; Quill Corp $97.47; Verizon $68.48; EFTPS $1,388.82; payroll $2,960.00; NMCA $15.00. Motion by Clements to approve payment of claims as presented; second by Ronhovde. Vote: Yes: All, No: None. Motion carried. Motion by Allgayer to transfer $5,000.00 from the general fund to the park fund; second by Clements. Vote: Yes: All, No: None. Motion carried.

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
