Board of Trustees Regular Meeting – August 7, 2013

 

The Village of Elmwood Board of Trustees met in regular session with Trustees Allgayer, Clements, and Chairman Ernst presiding. The meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m. Trustee Ronhovde entered the meeting at 8:55 p.m. All attending signed the “Notice of Acknowledgement of Meeting”. Chairman Ernst declared the Open Meeting Act posted. Greg Meyer, Deanna Sporhase, Arlo Fleischman, and Eugenia Bornemeier were also present.

 

Motion by Allgayer to approve the minutes of the May 1st Board Meeting; seconded by Clements. Vote: Aye: All; Nay: None. Motion carried. Motion by Clements to approve the minutes of the May 15th Board Meeting; seconded by Allgayer. Vote: Aye: All; Nay: None. Motion carried. Motion by Allgayer to approve the minutes of the July 17th Board Meeting; seconded by Clements. Vote: Aye: All; Nay: None. Motion carried.

 

Old Business: Discussion regarding subdivision progression; no action taken. Discussion regarding nuisance property at 205 East C Street; certified letter to be sent to homeowner.

 

New Business: Discussion regarding sales tax revenue; no action taken. Refinancing of street loans at lower interest rate; no action taken. Dog license late fee – Motion by Allgayer to approve the refund to Elizabeth Behrends for late fees re dog licensing; second by Clements. Vote: Aye: All; Nay: None. Motion carried. Dana F Cole & Company claim for payment; Allgayer negotiated final payment. Transfer of CDBG Funds; no action taken.

 

Street: “No Parking” signs to be installed on West C Street.

Park: New lights were installed.

Library: Claims – Motion by Clements to approve the claims presented for payment; seconded by Allgayer. Vote: Aye: All; Nay: None. Motion carried.

Water: No Report.

Sewer: No Report.

Comp/Zoning: No Report.

Planning: Recommendation made for subdivision.

Special Events: Future park improvements.

Safety: No Report.

To Do List: Well house doors.

Ortlieb Trucking $100.00; Midwest Laboratories $247.77; Cass County Refuse $62.00; Windstream $125.89; USA Blue Book - supplies $451.01; Christiansen Tree Service $325.00; Aerzen $250.18; Jack Faubion $1,250.00; Utility Service Co $6,165.61; Menards $9.28; NE Public Health Environmental Lab $45.00; HD Supply Waterworks $815.84; Connie Carlton – office supplies $79.12; Elizabeth Behrends – Late fee refund $50.00. Motion by Clements to approve the claims for payment as presented; second by Allgayer. Roll Call Vote: Aye: All; Nay: None. Motion carried.

Claim #2: American Exchange Bank – Note Payable $5,000.00. Motion by Allgayer to approve the claim as presented for payment; second by Clements. Roll Call Vote: Allgayer – Yes; Clements – Abstain; Ernst – Yes. Motion carried.

Claim #3: Dana F Cole & Co $10,500.00. Motion by Clements to approve the claim as presented for payment; second by Allgayer. Roll Call Vote: Allgayer – Yes; Clements – Yes; Ernst – Yes. Motion carried.

 

Correspondence: Letter sent to homeowner at 212 South 4th St regarding claim.

 

There being no further business, Chairman Ernst declared the meeting adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
