Board of Trustees Regular Meeting – December 19, 2012
The Village of Elmwood Board of Trustees met in regular session with Trustees Wilhelm, Ronhovde, Allgayer Clements, and Chairman Ernst presiding. Call to Order at 7:03 p.m. All signed the “Notice of Acknowledgement of Meeting”. Chairman Ernst declared the Open Meeting Act Posted. Jim Nelson, Ed Blunt and Nicole Folden were also in attendance. Minutes from the meeting on December 5, 2012 were approved as presented.
Streets: Blunt reported the snow plows are on both trucks and rock is ready for streets.
Water: Blunt reported he has passed all his assignments for his first water license and will be taking the test soon. Blunt also reported a water leak at West & D – water main broke in two and leak at 104 N 2nd that has been repaired. Allgayer reported he is meeting with Mr. Novak and NRD at the school on 1/14/2013 at 11:00 a.m. regarding reusing water.
Special Events: Clements reported Marie Gregoire received an “ok” to proceed with the grant amendment.
Safety Committee: Will have a meeting on December 28, 2012.
Claims: Payroll: $2,069.65, OPPD $3,501.41 – Black Hills Energy $145.05 – Municipal Supply $109.58, Midwest Laboratories $79.03 -- Nebraska Clerk Institute $393.00 – Verizon Wireless -- $68.49 Lovell Excavating $1,600.00 – AP Touch $15.00 – One Call Concepts -- $8.15. Motion by Clements to approve payment of claims as presented, 2nd by Allgayer. RCV: Aye – All; Nay – None. Motion passed to pay claims as presented.
Unfinished Business: Discussion of auditor proposal’s received. Motion by Ronhovde to hire Almquist Maltzahn Galloway & Luth as auditor for FYE 2012, 2nd by Wilhelm. RCV: Aye – All; Nay—None. Motion passed to hire Almquist Maltzahn Galloway & Luth.
Water Rates: Chairman Ernst requested to table the discussion until he has reviewed the water report.
Building Permit: Motion by Clements to approve the building permit for 204 N 1st Street for front porch, 2nd by Allgayer, Aye – All; Nay – None. Motion passed.
Personnel: Clerk announced intention to take EMT classes.
With no further business the meeting adjourned at 8:29 p.m.
